International travellers
heading to Indonesia will soon experience a smoother arrival process. Thanks to
a new digital system that combines all entry requirements into one platform.
The All Indonesia portal is designed to simplify border procedures by
allowing passengers to complete immigration, customs, and health declarations
in a single submission.
A Simplified Arrival Experience
Long airport queues and
stacks of arrival forms have long been part of the travel experience for
visitors entering Indonesia. The government’s new digital platform aims to
change that. With All Indonesia, passengers can complete all the
necessary information online before their flight and present just one QR code
upon arrival.
The system unites data collection of various
agencies under a single roof and eliminates the necessity to complete various
forms.
This innovation implies that the immigration,
customs, and health authorities will be able to access the same information in
real time, which will enable the officers to process incoming passengers more
quickly and efficiently.
This initiative is one of the key attempts to
modernize the border services in Indonesia. It is designed to improve the
overall experience of traveling in Indonesia, according to the Ministry of
Immigration and Correctional Affairs.
Pilot Implementation at Key Entry Points
The All Indonesia system is first being
launched in large international gateways, such as Soekarno-Hatta International
Airport in Jakarta, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Juanda
International Airport in Surabaya, and Batam ports. The government intends to
extend it to the rest of the entry points in the country after a successful
testing phase.
The goal is to create a
consistent and convenient process for everyone entering Indonesia, whether by
air or sea.
Once fully operational, the
new system will link seamlessly with automated gates equipped for biometric
verification. These smart gates are expected to help priority travellers—such
as senior citizens, people with disabilities, and unaccompanied minors—move
through checkpoints more comfortably and safely.
What Travellers Need to Know
Passengers can access the
platform through allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id or download the mobile
application available on both iOS and Android devices. The online form requires
personal information such as full name, passport number, flight or vessel
details, local address in Indonesia, and travel purpose.
The same submission also
covers baggage declarations, health-related questions, and mobile device
registration (for IMEI compliance, when applicable). Travellers must complete
the process within 72 hours before departure to ensure their details are
properly integrated with Indonesia’s systems.
Once the information has been filled in, the user is provided with a
special QR code, which is a registration confirmation. Immigration and customs
officers scan this code on arrival and eliminate the necessity to use paper
documents or various checkpoints.
In the meantime, the entry points that are yet to integrate the system
will still be using the former manual process. It should be mentioned that all
of Indonesia is not intended to substitute the current visa and residence
permit policies. Tourists will still have to abide by the normal immigration
regulations in Indonesia.
The All Indonesia introduction is a significant improvement in the
handling of international arrivals in the country. The system will minimize
waiting time by computerizing and converting processes that were previously
done in isolation.
In the past, travellers were supposed to fill in several paperwork
forms, usually reiterating information on various forms. Not only was this
slowing down the entry process, but it was also raising the possibility of
mistakes and confusion.
The new platform will assist in ensuring that the process of
verification is faster, fewer errors are made, and that the record-keeping
process will be more reliable, as all the data will be automatically exchanged
among the agencies.
According to the government, this initiative is a step in enhancing the
quality of services provided by the government. It integrates different
ministries such as immigration, customs, health, and quarantine on a single
coordinated digital platform. It shows that inter-agency coordination can make
a direct positive impact on the everyday life of both citizens and visitors.
The official introduction of All Indonesia at Soekarno-Hatta
International Airport saw the presence of some of the senior officials, such as
the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs, Agus Andrianto,
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus
Harimurti Yudhoyono, Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini
Widyantini, and Vice Minister of Health, Dante Saksono.
Minister Andrianto said that the incorporation of several processes into
one is a big step in service delivery in Indonesia. He observed that the
exchange of real-time data between the agencies would not only accelerate the
speed of the inspections but also enhance security and accuracy at the border.
Minister Yudhoyono pointed out that the first impression of a visitor
starts the moment he or she lands in a country. He said that effective and
amiable entry procedures are the way to make a friendly atmosphere and make
travellers come back. He further noted that this enhancement would be
significant in enhancing the tourism and investment attractiveness in
Indonesia.
In the meantime, Minister Widyantini emphasized that the platform is in
line with the national agenda to streamline government services and make them
quicker and more digitally connected. She referred to the project as an
effective demonstration of collaboration between agencies that used to work
independently, but now, they are brought together by one objective of
efficiency and the satisfaction of people.
Convenience is the most evident advantage to the passengers. One form
filled out online prior to travelling would result in less stress and reduced
lines after arrival. The paperwork and multi-counter features are also
minimized in the process, which is an additional welcome in a post-pandemic
travel scenario where cleanliness and efficiency are the key factors.
To law enforcement agencies, digital integration offers a better picture
of the incoming visitors and an easier way to coordinate with the different
departments. It also improves the accuracy of data.
All Indonesians help the country move towards digital transformation. It
is a trend that is gaining momentum throughout Southeast Asia as governments
are embracing technology to enhance their administration competitiveness in the
tourism and trade sectors.
A New Era for Border Crossings
The introduction of All Indonesia
marks a turning point in how travellers experience entry into the country. By
consolidating multiple procedures into one digital step, Indonesia is sending a
strong message: efficiency, hospitality, and innovation can go hand in hand.
For visitors, this means
less paperwork and more time to enjoy the journey.
